What happens when you hand over control—and the canvas—to a crowd?
Mix & Mingle is a collective digital drawing experiment featuring 25 artists working together in real time (and online) using the collaborative platform Drawpile.

Invited from a range of disciplines—visual art, architecture, poetry, theatre, music, design, and illustration—the participating artists were divided into three drawing groups. Two groups consist of eight artists, while one group includes nine. Each team was invited to invent its own strategy for collaboration: some worked sequentially, some in spontaneous dialogue, others divided the space. No method was prescribed; negotiation was part of the process.
Over eight days in April, the artists entered their shared virtual canvases and began to draw. Every mark was recorded. The result: three animated films that play back the full lifecycle of each collaborative drawing—from first touch to final flourish.
Mix & Mingle continues Galerie And’s interest in cross-genre, co-developed curatorial projects. This project focuses on play, collaboration, and asynchronous connection— an experiment in how artists create together across distance, time, and creative discipline.
